Floatation therapy

Two days post Christmas hustle I’m in a spa thanks to my lovely husband who treated me for my Xmas pressie. Mother and I have come to Addington Palace in Croydon for a floatation experience.

I’d always been keen to try it but was put off by the usual pods you have to go in.. you know the ones with your head poking out the top. Not a good look let alone the idea of claustrophobia! So hubby found this silent night package which includes use of sauna and hours floatation in an epsom salt pool with use of the relaxation room for as long as you require. We had access to a comfy sofa, massage chairs, endless teas and snacks, magazines and the best bit PEACE!

It’s so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy life and take some time to relax. I think we all deserve that now and again!

If you haven’t tried flotation I would suggest you give it a go. It is meant to be a whole body experience, from lowering blood pressure and heart rate to mental and physical relaxation and rejuvenation. It is widely used in the treatment of stress, anxiety, jet lag and to improve concentration and creativity. It can help with pain relief too.

I would definitely recommend it. It was a lovely holistic feeling which left my skin feeling so soft afterwards. I was a little disappointed with the cold palace and sub zero temperature showers but the flotation experience was just lovely. Maybe somewhere else next time.

If you are looking for relaxing.. I’d avoid the massage chairs!!
